Hi
Everyone,
I’m
guessing, but I bet the recent market turmoil has gotten some
of us just a bit uncomfortable.
Even
though I’ve invested through numerous and more severe
downturns, I must admit I’m not totally immune to the
anxiety that accompanies this kind of volatility.
But
having managed investments through varied situations, I’ve
come to realize that these corrections are part of the natural
market cycle. The oft repeated scenario has the market going
up and usually for an extended period of time. During this
up period excesses are built into the system. These excesses
are then purged from the system and in the process the market
goes down. When the cleansing is complete the market goes
back up again.
That
the market continues its upward climb has been a constant
since we’ve been recording these things. The duration
and severity of the downturn is the only question mark. Your
portfolios have been constructed to weather these types of
storms.
History
tells us that things will get better and more profitable.
In the meantime, if the uncertainty is still causing you discomfort
please give me a call and I’ll be happy to discuss your
specific situation in more detail.
Your
Partner in Patience,
Jim
